Problems with Paid Ads After charging my credit card, I did not get the Ad Entry Window. |
I am receiving an error message when I try to submit an ad. |
O.K., You've entered your ad information, you press Submit, and... instead of an ad
comfirmation number, you get an ugly gray page with a bunch of junk on it! The most common
cause of this problem is entering a something other than a number in the 'Asking Price' field.
For example, if you used a comma, or a dollar sign, go back and try again without them and
this should solve your problem. In some sections, certain fields are required, and you may get an error message if you leave them blank. Make sure you have filled in all the required fields. Click here if this hasn't solved your problem

I can't find my ad using 'Find an Ad by Ad Number'. |
The most common cause of this problem is selecting the wrong category when running the
search. For example, a user may place an ad for an antique item in the Miscellaneous section.
Then, a week later, go back and look for the ad in the Antiques section. Of course, verify that you have the correct ad number as well. If you are not sure, try accessing your ad via a search page instead. NOTE: Soon a new feature called 'Find My Ads' will be available from the home page. By entering either your phone number, or email address, you can retreive all the ads you have running on the system at that time!

I can't find my ad using the search page. |
Make sure you are in the same section that you placed your ad, and that your search phrase is
spelled the same way it appears in the ad. If you are still having trouble go to Search Tips for help on running searches.

The description section of my ad was cut off (not complete). |
The maximum number of charcters our database will allow in any field is 255. This should be
about three lines of text in the scrolling text box. There should be a warning message about this
limitation adjacent to the field (if not, please let us know). TIP: If you run out of space, make sure you are not repeating information that is already available in other fields, and if necessary, move some data to another field. Some section have a field for a brief description and detailed description. Both of these fields will accpet up to 255 characters. Also, use your Headline wisely. For example, instead of entering the headline '1996 Chevy Lumina' (this info is already printed on the top of your ad), use this space for some of the most important features; something like 'White, excellent condition, A/C, Stereo w/CD', thereby saving room in the description field for other details.

Can I change an ad that I already posted? |
Yes, If you used a password (and remember it) when you created the ad. Click on the Edit Ad
link on the home page, and enter your ad number ,password, and category (section). All must
be correct in order to edit the ad. If you didn't use a password, or mistyped it when entering
the ad, you cannot edit the ad. You can still achieve the same results by deleting and
resubmitting the ad with the new information. If you can't delete the ad either, email your delete
request to admin@theadnet.com from the same email address that appears in the ad.

My password doesn't work for editing ads. |
If you used a password that is more than seven characters long, try using only the first seven
digits of the password on the Edit page. Also, make sure that you are selecting the correct
category (section) for your ad. If this doesn't work, you may have mistyped the password
when placing the ad. You can still achieve the same results by deleting and resubmitting the ad
with the new information. If you can't delete the ad either, email your delete request to
admin@theadnet.com from the same email address that appears in the ad.

Help with Paid Ads |
After charging my credit card, I did not get the Ad Entry Window. |
Upon a successful credit card payment, the Ad Entry Page should open in your main browser window. If you have minimized or covered up that window, locate it an maximize in order to submit your ad. If you accidentally closed this window, or the window did not open the Ad Entry Form, go to Edit Ad. Check your confirmation email for the AdId and temporary password. You should be able to fill in the ad using these (be sure to select the correct section).
If you still cannot access the ad using Edit Ad, and you are sure the transaction was successful, and be sure to include the Ad Id. If you have a copy of the confirmation email, please forward that with your inquiry.
